Speed Reduction on the B743
For ten years, residents campaigned for a lower speed limit on this stretch of road. I backed their calls, and 40 mph signs are now in place between Nellie’s Gate and Whitletts Roundabout. This was a hard-won result for the local community.
Supporting an Ambitious Ayrshire
I want Ayrshire to be a place where businesses can grow and people can find good jobs close to home. I’ve joined my fellow Ayrshire MPs in making the case to the UK Government for more investment in our strengths, from engineering to the Prestwick airport cluster.
Working to Improve Postal Services
Too many people have told me about delayed post, including important NHS letters. I’m continuing to raise these concerns with Royal Mail and the UK Government and press for the reliable service that households and businesses across Central Ayrshire deserve.
Supporting Young Persons Literacy
Every child deserves the chance to discover the joy of reading. I’ve helped distribute thousands of books to local primary schools, giving pupils more stories to explore and supporting the teachers who encourage a love of reading every day.
Campaign Against Kids Safety Cuts
When cuts threatened school crossing patrols, families made clear how much these services mattered. I campaigned alongside them, and together we succeeded in stopping the cuts. Children’s safety on the journey to school must come first.
Supporting Local Community Events
From gala days to local celebrations, our events bring neighbours together and make Central Ayrshire a special place to live. I’m proud to support the volunteers and community groups who put in the work to make them happen.
